Dr. Loh Boon Kwangis one of the first local Vitreo-Retinal eye surgeons to be locally and regionally recognised for his sub-specialisation in the treatment of both adult and paediatric Vitreous and Retina conditions.

He is a Consultant Eye Surgeon at Ophthalmic Consultants at the Gleneagles Medical Centre and a Visiting Consultant to the Singapore National Eye Centre, Changi General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

After graduating from the National University of Singapore Medical School, Dr Loh obtained his Masters of Medicine (Ophthalmology) and pursued his Ophthalmology specialist and sub-specialist training in Vitreo-Retinal conditions and diseases at the Singapore National Eye Centre. Under a Singapore Government scholarship, Dr Loh also pursued advanced sub-specialist training in USA for adult and paediatric Vitreous and Retina conditions at the Associated Retina Consultants of the Beaumont Hospital in Michigan and the Vitreous-Retina-Macula Consultants of New York.

Prior to working at Ophthalmic Consultants, Dr Loh was a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Singapore National Eye Centre with the Departments of Vitreo-Retinal Service and General Cataract and Comprehensive Service, and a Visiting Consultant at the Changi General Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Dr Loh is well regarded by fellow doctors locally and regionally for his expertise in both adult and paediatric Vitreous and Retina conditions and his commitment to patient care.

Dr Loh actively pursues research relating to Vitreo-Retinal conditions and diseases and is a Adjunct Research Fellow at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. He has often been interviewed by the Media to educate the public on eye conditions and diseases. Dr Loh is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and is the first Singaporean member of the Association of Paediatric Retina Surgeons (USA).
